Mindful Movement for Kids + Their Keepers


A delightful journey of mindful movement, connection, and fun!

Join us for Mindful Movement, a fun and engaging class designed to strengthen the bond between kids and their caregivers through mindful practices. This class introduces the basics of the mind-body connection, teaching both children and their caregivers how to connect with their breath, regulate emotions, and practice simple yoga poses and stretches.

  • Explore the Mind-Body Connection: Learn how our thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations are interconnected.

  • Breathing Techniques: Discover calming and energizing breathing exercises that can be used anytime, anywhere.

  • Emotion Regulation: Understand and practice techniques for recognizing and managing emotions effectively.

  • Yoga Poses and Stretching: Enjoy fun and accessible yoga poses and stretches that are suitable for all levels.

  • Interactive Activities: Engage in a special activity designed to reinforce the day's lesson

This class is perfect for children and their caregivers who want to experience the benefits of mindfulness and movement together. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore!

Date & Time: Sunday, July 21st 12-1pm
Location: Seward Yoga: 223 4th Ave
What to Bring: Comfortable clothing and an open heart. (Yoga mats, props, and activity provided)
For ages 2-8.

With the purchase of one pass, up to three kids can attend with one adult.

Please, no more than 3 kids to an adult. 



About Calamity:
Calamity Farris Vaught is a licensed psychotherapist (LICSW) and lifelong student of movement. Calamity was raised in Seward and gained her deep connection to movement through dance, yoga, and exploring the Alaskan wilderness. Calamity currently lives in Arizona where she works as a therapist and focuses her practice around holistic, whole body wellness. Calamity received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Arizona and has spent 10 years working in the mental health field as a social worker, a crisis specialist, and psychotherapist. Calamity believes it is an honor to connect with people on a deep and meaningful level and that mindfulness, embodied living, and movement are essential to wellness. She is specifically passionate about breaking down barriers associated with mental health and she is trained in providing holistic care that focuses on the importance of understanding the mind body connection. Calamity understands that each individual has a unique and nuanced history and with a sincere sense of curiosity she seeks to understand these complexities and uncover the strengths that already exist within us. Using a trauma informed, client centered, and somatic based approach Cal strives to help clients uncover intrinsic self worth and find deeper meaning, peace, and purpose in their lives.
